Ogee Sunglasses
Jon provided two designs for sunglasses by Ogee. One is shown here. The rest of the designs in the forthcoming series of sunglasses are by other Nottingham-based designers.
Metal Niki Dongle
Mystery solved! The metal mystery doodle last pondered here has been revealed to be Metal Niki, a “laser cut stainless steel keyring dongle character.” Metal Niki measures 1.5 x 2.3″ and is yours for £4.00 here.
Gardunny Goes to Glamsterdam
The Tilburg posse sent in these scans from a free Dutch magazine called Glamsterdam:
Pim Hendriksen was one of the winners of a photoshoot to show a different look at how to see Amsterdam. The theme was Small Things.
The shoot shows Jon’s Gardunny from the Ye Olde English Dunny series at various locations in Amsterdam.
Garden of Earthly Delights Shirt for OXFAM
Jon made this grey Garden of Earthly Delights shirt for Turtlehead. All proceeds from the sale of this t-shirt go to OXFAM, Ireland’s Climate Change Campaign. $34 USD here.
Turtlehead are a collective based in Ireland with one eye on the establishment, another on the subversive and another on stuff they like. Their designs are part social commentary, part public art, part rant, part up theirs and part down with this sort of thing. Everything is limited to 500 pieces and all their t-shirts are printed in Ireland on ethically made and environmentally friendly 100% cotton t-shirts.
Doodle Sticker Bike
This bike plastered with Jon Burgerman stickers was spotted out and about. Someone’s done a lot of ordering from Burgerplex, haven’t they? Looks rad.
Name Jon’s Mugo Player
Mugo is running a contest to name Jon’s new Mugo character. They’re looking for a name and a short description, and they’re putting the winner’s fate in Facebook fans’ hot little hands. The Mugo Player is a character-driven mp3 player for all those folks who would rather their digital music come in the form of a cute humanoid companion than that sleek little gizmo everybody else has. I have no doubt that Jon’s character already has a name, as Jon names and titles all of his work. But Mugo wants to crowd-source the little guy’s hello my name is (and collect a few email addresses along the way). Designer Mugo Players retail for about $60, and DIY blanks go for $50. No word on if these gadgets will be available through Burgerplex, so if you’re chomping at the bit, send your suggestion to mugo at submit [at] mugoplayer [dot] com.
Fancy Some Tea in the Park?
In my experience, tea-drinking in the U.S. is not as evolved or habitual a pastime as it is in the U.K., but our newest slogan is about change, isn’t it? Although mobility is a reality of our modern lifestyle, you might be looking to upgrade from this handy portable beverage tumbler to something a bit more fancy. This is a Limited Edition, who previously brought us the Trample and Scrum pillows, are here to help you be more like what Drake was talking about on the MTV VMAs. The California posse has been promised a sample for review, so we will post an update when we are suitably fancy with pinky pronation…
This is not a plastic crap cup. This is a limited edition. It is also a “Demitasse cup and saucer set made from Staffordshire Bone China”. The tea set comes in a handsome collector’s box with an A6 Fine Art Print (from this design, though bearing no relation to the Gary Numan song of similar name) and a certificate of authenticity.

The In the Park Tea (or Coffee) Set was produced in Stoke-on-Trent, England for This Is Limited Edition. Only 250 sets of this design will be made available, with a price of ~$60 USD reflecting its limited nature. Set up all your favorite dollies, and prepare to serve some tea. The set is currently available at Burgerplex here and at ClickforArt here.
Anxieteam’s Debut Single Now Available
Last month, Anxieteam’s debut single on full-color picture disc became available for pre-order. It’s now back in general release, making today not only the launch of Anxieteam’s brand new website, but also the official launch of the must-have music of 2010. The single is a double A-side on a 7″ picture disc featuring the live favorites “Let’s Eat Soya” and “Lonely In The Digital World”. The band created the artwork themselves, Jim doing one side of the disc and Jon the other. There are only 500 copies of the disc. (I’ve already got mine. They shop fast from the UK!) You can buy it directly from Hello Thor or Burgerplex. Haven’t got a record player? Each ~$11 purchase is accompanied by a suite of mp3s.
Anxieteam Website Launches!
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, approximately 6.8 million American adults, or about 3.1 percent of people age 18 and over, have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Well, now, thanks to a brand new website from Doodlesplatter’s very own design dream team, The Neon Hive, there will be a few less anxious people around town. The world’s most famous neurotic duo, Anxieteam, have a freshly centralized hub serving all the latest band-related news, music and videos. Consider it virtual Valium. If you fell out with society, join the Anxieteam here.
Custom Jinny by Bitbots
I’m not really sure the world needs another platform mini-figure to DIY, but I do like designer Jats Gill’s mission to “develop new designers, especially from the UK and Europe”. (Everyone knows I’m gay for the UK.) The toy is called Jinny. The company is called Bitbots. Jon customized a blank figure for the opening of the the Bitbots pop-up shop in London near the Oxford Circus tube station. The store and the show will be up through October 3rd.
