Shelter Charity Auction
Jon did this piece for the Shelter Charity Auction at 20 Hoxton Square. It has a very “Day of the Deadsy” feeling to it, doesn’t it? This follows up the 2009 Shelter House of Cards project, to which Jon was also a contributor. Here’s a bit from the press release:
Every week across Britain nearly 5,000 households face the nightmare of losing their home. Housing charity Shelter has teamed up with creative agency Margaret and 20 Hoxton Square Projects to create ‘52 Weeks’, a unique show comprising artwork inspired by weeks of the year. Hosted by 20 Hoxton Square Projects and curated by Adam Waymouth, the exhibition aims to raise awareness about the thousands of families struggling to keep a roof over their head. It follows on from the success of Shelter’s House of Cards exhibition in September 2009, which raised over £100,000 for the housing charity.
Happy Hour Print
Jon’s Happy Hour screen-print was first shown by Concrete Hermit at Christy’s South Kensington as part of the Multiplied show. Oil based inks make the colors really vibrant. Limited to only 50 copies, signed and numbered for £145 here.
Cafeteria Doodles
Somewhere in the UK, lucky students get to eat lunch in a cafeteria adorned with GREEN doodles by Jon. Be cool. Stay in school.
Doodle Sticker Bike
This bike plastered with Jon Burgerman stickers was spotted out and about. Someone’s done a lot of ordering from Burgerplex, haven’t they? Looks rad.
Clean Air is Lungtastic!
“Clean air is lungtastic!” Truer words were never spoken. Today, the American Cancer Society launched the “More Birthdays” campaign. Jon has contributed a poster, print and wrapping paper featuring this new “Lungtastic” design. Each item is priced affordably, and you can’t argue that your dollar is going to a better cause. What do “more birthdays” mean to Jon? “The chance to eat way more cake than your fair share.” Check out products by Jon here.
About the movement for more birthdays:
For nearly 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been working to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. And we can’t do it without your help. The movement for more birthdays is about everyday people, just like you, coming together to make a difference. This year more than 11 million cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday, thanks in part to the progress we’ve already made. But we can’t stop there. With every person who joins the movement, we can get closer to the day when cancer never steals another year from someone’s life. It all starts by helping people stay well and get well, and by finding cures and fighting back.

Jon Burgerman Joins the Renmen Project
Jon has joined the Renmen Project! Per their blog:
He’s very kindly filled up a book of blank postcards with a stack of hand-drawn one-off doodles, which we will be selling in our shop in the not-too-distant future.
Renmen’ is the Haitian word for Love, the bird in the logo is the Hispaniolan Trogon, the national bird of Haiti. ‘The Renmen Project‘ has been brought together by the team at Thunder Chunky and Ben The Illustrator in order to raise funds for UNICEF’s Haiti Appeal. Throughout 2010, they will be working with a selection of top artists and designers from around the world to create artwork to sell online. Every penny made from art sales will be going to UNICEF’s Haiti Earthquake Children’s Appeal.

Posse Spotting: San Diego Comic-Con
Naturally, I had nothing to do with this sticker appearing next to the handy trolley route map during San Diego’s Comic-Con 2010. My role is merely the observer, and it was nice to observe that despite the clean-up efforts of the SDCC crew, the Posse represented night and day. You can find more of my non-posse-related SDCC photos here.
