Posse Spotting: South Coast, England
The posse is always on the move, and when we’re not riding the rails in Russia, we need some good wheels of our own. These two South Coast skate/BMX shops endorse the posse, and we endorse them right back. Bored of South Coast (above) features a 2D JB as their much cooler version of a Walmart greeter. And ESP put Jon up on their special message board. What’s poppin’ indeed! Click through and spot the posse. Cheers Bored, ESP and Posse Anon!
Exclusive Japanese Stickers
I’m very happy to post this one because I’ll be visiting Japan for the first time at the end of this month. These new stickers are Japanese exclusives, sold in and around Tokyo. My girlfriend passed on an interesting article from the NY Times about killing time and beating jetlag in Tokyu Hands. Count me in. Here are some of the sticker-selling locations.
Posse Spotting: Tilburg, Netherlands
Emo the rabbit is the first animal to officially join our posse. (Well, second, technically, to Bailey who lives at Posse HQ.) Emo is a black beauty with one ear down. She lives in the Netherlands with Jeps and Evelien, who play music as Darker. Regarding Emo, they write: “She loves carrots and JB’s art (we know as she still hasn’t eaten the artwork).” Incidentally, it’s not just the rabbit who knows how to trick out her crib: Jeps and Evelien have a GREAT collection of framed art and toys by Jon. Thanks J&E!
Posse Spotting: Lil Daredevil
You’re never too young to join the posse. Spotted on Adele Prince’s Flickr.
Posse Spotting: Helsinki, Finland
Evidence of the posse has surfaced in Helsinki, Finland. Nice juxtapositions with Pablo Picasso and Doug Stanhope! I’m winging it with Google Translation on this one for our Finnish friend: Taide on kaikkialla!
Posse Spotting: Oakland, California
The posse has touched down in Oaktown. There’s a lot of awesomeness in this montage. Straight from the center, we’ve got a little lesson in local linguistics. On the top and right periphery, two great stickers by GATS. Finally, in the lower right-hand corner, someone has shared the truism that “Sherilyn Fenn was -by far- the hottest chick on Twin Peaks.” Hella true indeed. I mean, her closest competition was a corpse. Something tells me the posse is not done with The Bay Area…
Posse Spotting: Moscow, Russia
Just got word of a posse spotting in Moscow. Как сказать “posse” по-русски? We are legion!

Adding to the range of available Jon Burgerman clings, “vynils” and wall adhesives comes a new decal through AREAWARE. “My World is Pink and Blue” is a gigantic (146.5 x 118 inches) slice of custom made-to-order vinyl for your wall. Or, if you’re prone to spending beyond your means, consider it lovely decor for that new cardboard box you’ll be living in. It is currently available for $850 here.

Posse Spotting: Brooklyn, New York
These photos are just in from Giant Robot’s Flickr set of Jon’s Pens Are My Friends signing. The freshly doodled Brooklyn subway map is the property of KidLew. What a great idea. On a related note, the posse is getting up out there. This sticker was spotted in the poignantly titled DUMBO area of Brooklyn, NY. Jon Burgerman has a posse!
Infectious Adhesive Art
Infectious is a San Francisco-based company that makes adhesive art for your car, and more recently, your laptop and other small gadgets. Jon has a selection of blue, grey and black stickers called Lunar Park. My girlfriend gave me a big sheet of these that I will put on our car when the weather warms up a little.
It’s called Lunar Park. On one hand it’s a simple collection of characters enjoying each others’ company on a sunny day in the park. On the other, there’s a slight suggestion in the drawings that some of the characters have enjoyed themselves a little too much. I like the LP Dark Side of the Moon and the book Lunar Park by Brett Easton Ellis. I can’t say these have completely influenced this work but I think the idea of ‘lunatics in the park’ and the title of the book were in my brain somewhere while creating this.
- Infectious car art is designed for easy installation with just one or two people from a few minutes to a couple hours depending on the package.
- The art is durable enough to withstand extreme weather conditions (and car washes) for up to two years.
- The art can be removed easily with a hairdryer.
- The kits come in Icons ($27.99), Accents ($79-$119), Hood Pieces ($79-$145), Door Kits ($159), Side Kits ($159-$379) and Full Kits ($299).
- The range of artists involved currently includes: Dalek, Buff Monster and Tara McPherson.
- The site features an exclusive interview with each artist including questions about cars, inspiration and music.
