Ha-Ha Chaps Pop Cling

Even if your living room is made up of 5 Detolfs and a Karlstad, it doesn’t have to look like an IKEA catalog. Pop Cling aims to do for your house what Infectious is doing for your car: that is, cover its plain and ordinary surfaces with vinyl slices of urban and pop art. Pop Cling is a Costa Mesa-based art reproduction company specializing in high-res printing on vinyl mediums to produce digitally-printed skateboards and artist-created wall graphics. They recently introduced “Foolproof” vinyl, which allows for an easier peel, stick and remove process–perfect for renters, transients and the mercurial.

Jon’s Pop Cling is in the company of Clings by Attaboy, Jeremyville, Junko Mizuno, Skwak and Zeptonn. Get HA-HA Chaps in edition of 100 Pop Clings for $55 here.

Sticker Bombs

Jon joins Jeremyville, TADO, Rolito, Furi Furi and Genevieve Gaukler in Sticker Bombs: “a sprawling family comprising about 100 characters created and trained by renowned graphic artists to be adopted urgently to satisfy your needs for affection and to give a little madness to your telephones, laptops and business cards, to populate and make envelopes and notebooks, scooters, bicycles and mobylettes, personal diaries and secret boxes explode with uber cool imagery.:”

Each Sticker Bomb pack has 12 specially created families of self-adhesive characters and measures 13 x 18 cm. All the characters have the name of their respective families. “Creators of messages and imaginative images turned into visual identity, their aim is to inspire sense with lightness and humour.” To purchase or see more, visit: stores.ebay.co.uk/Clooci-Decor and www.Clooci.com.

Die-Cut Stickers

These stickers from 2007 are individually die-cut, water resistant, glossy stickers, ranging from approximately 60mm to 90mm high. Each pack contains 8 randomly selected characters. “These are the nicest and best stickers we’ve ever made!” proclaims Jon. You can purchase them from Jon’s shop and decorate all sorts of things, like drawers. I have several packs of these and stick them everywhere.

Orphaned Vinyls

kingdrips

In 2007, Jon did these designs to be produced on vinyl stickers for German company, Kingdrips. Alas, the project did not come to fruition. But that didn’t stop Jon from making adhesives for walls, cars and laptops. Check the Stickers category for all the sticky collabs.

UPDATE: October, 2009. Lutz Lindemann of Kingdrips wrote in to tell us that these vinyls are not related to Kingdrips. Curious indeed. I took out Kingdrips from the title of the post. Now these vinyls are not only in limbo, having never been made, but they are also orphans. Poor little vinyls.

Doodle Heads Poster

The Doodle Heads poster combined a love of stickers with the satisfaction of poster size. You see, the Doodle Heads poster was one giant sticker: a digital print of lots of little doodle heads on A3 sticker paper. It measured 297 x 420 mm. and came packaged in a cardboard tube “which then can be used as a pretend telescope.”

Puma Stickers

2005 saw Jon dabbling in several avenues of advertising. These stickers were designed for a PUMA campaign. The art is not something you’d typically see and think “Jon Burgerman.” I imagine these were given away with PUMA trainers and track suits.  It’s a bit confusing as the imagery mixes things that are obviously “SOoofast” with those that aren’t. Irony in advertising? How 2005!

Early Window Stickers

These 2005 window stickers were the primitive precursors for Jon’s 2008 car art partnership with Infectious.
