Lossy Botany Lab: The Lab
Our friends Jeps and Evelien of Darker and the Dutch Doodlesplatter posse got the rest of us front row seats for Jon’s recent Lossy Botany Lab show at Hamburg’s heliumcowboy artspace. Tea Bagging Burgerman
OK, I couldn’t resist this. When I read about these pop culture tea bags on the Jailbreak blog, I knew it was only a matter of time before I swapped out Pablo’s head for Jon’s. These fun teabags (almost seems like an oxymoron) hail from Hamburg through Donkey Products. You cannot (yet…) get a Burgerman teabag, but a whole host of exciting possibilities are available online here or in the UK where tea is like the national beverage or something, here.
Free inkstrumental iPhone App Wallpapers
Every couple months, there’s something new to post about inkstrumental, and we hear ustwo is getting close to releasing Jon’s iPhone app. Although it’s a bit like putting the cart in front of the horse, it’s great advertising and obviously, I’m a sucker for a JB wallpaper. I don’t see a way to link to the individual post on their tumblr site, but currently at the top of the page: four free colorful, virtual wallpaper downloads.
Aladdin Artist Series Mug and Bowl
This morning’s post about dixie cups got me thinking about housewares and remembering this bit of merchandise from last summer’s NY International Gift Fair. Well here they are! Aladdin makes recycled plastic into art, specifically artist bowls and insulated art mugs. Jon has two pieces in Artist Series 1. The 20 oz dishwasher and microwave-safe art bowl has an easy grip art-lid and is free of BPAs. The 12 oz mug is dishwasher and car-cup friendly with a flip lid and is also delightfully bereft of those BPAs. DIY blank mugs in 8 and 16 oz sizes are also offered for those of you customizers out there.
I like the language Aladdin uses and their commitment to recycling. Fun stuff you can feel good about. Both items are priced at $20 each through Aladdin or for slightly cheaper among Jon’s art at Kidrobot online. Dang it if Jon and Buff Monster aren’t going to make me start wearing and eating more pink. Here’s a bit more about Aladdin. Check ‘em!

Doodled Dixie Cups
Elektrodrop is a “creative collective of designers, artists, fashion, music and lifestyle enthusiasts trying to get by in this crazy world.” Following the instructions in Jon’s pre-signing tweet, they brought along a truly random object to have burgerized: the common dixie cup. The results really elevate this formerly disposable object. The Elektrodrop crew also picked up a customized Munny and an autographed microfiber cleaning cloth. Posse Spotting: Eindhoven, Holland
Spotted at a a hardcore/punk CD stand at the Persistence Festival in Eindhoven, Holland. This is the pattern we’ve seen before here and also as a cat-friendly tablecloth during Jon’s American Summer. Fashionable scarves and punk rock vending, it’s all posse-approved.
Queens Medical Centre Murals
If you have to be admitted to the Nottingham Queens Medical Centre, Children’s Wing, at least the decor is cheerful. Jon did these two adhesive wall murals with printing and installation by Ian Robinson. The sheets of coloring book paper are a nice touch. Are those POSCAS?
Framed Beer Matts
Doodlesplatter posse member, Amir, sent in these great snaps of his beer matts. I love the concept of framing something as “disposable” as coasters. Amir got the Burgerman beer matts at Broadway Cinema and had them framed at Paramount Picture Framing in the UK. Writes Amir:
I assumed broadway and paramount picture framing were in collaboration for this event. Since I haven’t seen anyone else doing this online, it makes me wonder if I was the only one who did it. Imagine that.

Music Sales Rug
I am stupid -jealous of this rug Jon designed for Music Sales. The whimsical floor covering matches nicely with the muradoodle he did there this summer. More practical textiles, please! Shower curtains?
