Artoyz Foulard
I had to look up the definition of foulard. It’s kind of like a scarf. Jon made one that you can get for $35 from Artoyz Clothing.
Little Best Friends Belt
This is another great belt from the Yummy Industries folks who made Jon’s last belt. The Burgerland Woven belt was a tad pink for my taste, so this darker Little Best Friends belt makes me feel suitably macho wearing doodles above my groin. You can currently get one direct from Jon here. If you scroll to the bottom of his post, you’ll find this: “A note from an American belt owner called Jeremy “for non-UK buyers, lay off the carbs if you wear bigger than size 34 pants.”
1 Inch Pin Badge Project
Along with fellow designer, Ian Stevenson, Jon is a featured artist for the premier of the UK’s 1 Inch Pin Badge Project. Jon’s design is called “Gay Dino.” 1 inch is a pin badge project that puts out exclusive 1″ pin badges every month from great designers created especially for 1 inch. The project was established in May 2008 by Clive McFarland. You can buy them on the website before they sell out or choose to be a subscriber. Subscribers get a new badge every month for as long as they remain subscribed. All of this can be done seemlessly through Paypal. Buttons are £2 each or for £1.50 for subscribers.
Size? Clothing Collaboration
Jon released a range of clothing and with UK premium sneaker chain Size?. In this series, Size? got together with artists to produce limited edition products. Jon’s is the first collaboration, and it consists of a t-shirt, sweatshirt (jumper), reversible hoodie, belt and matching umbrella covered in orange doodles on black fabric. Everything in the collection are limited to 300 pieces worldwide. I have the sweatshirt, and it rules! I wonder how geeky it would be to deck out in the full range of coordinate gear? It’s tempting…
You can get Jon’s pieces in the Size? online store, through Jon’s webshop (check availability, most items are sold out) and Size? stores in Dublin, Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff and Brighton.
Dada Mobile Phone Wallpapers
Jon has an array of mobile phone wallpapers available for download on Dada here.
Burgerland Woven Belt
This is a ‘woven drawing’ belt Jon did for Yummy Industries. It measures 4cm x 110cm and features glow-in-the-dark white stitching. I thought this was sold out, but it looks like you can still get it from the Yummy Industries website among some other really cool belts for 33 Euros in the Belts section here.
Tiddles Mackenzie Embroidered Hanky
I don’t know much about this awesome embroidered accessory from one of Jon’s recurring characters. Of note is that the hanky features a misspelling: The commonly accepted spelling of Tiddles’ last name is “Mackenzie.”
Lunch Boxes
In 2006, Jon was making lots of containers, not the least of which was this retro metal lunchbox, “perfect for housing cakes, sandwiches and hard boiled eggs wrapped in foil.” Approximately 200×170x95mm. Originally priced at UK buyer £12 (inc. postage) / Non UK buyer £14.50 (inc. postage) and are sold out. You can see the lunchboxes in this pic from a 2007 Thunder egg signing.
Pill Tin and Pocket Tin
In 2006, Jon made a lot of accessories of various kinds, these two tins among them. Above left is a pill tin with sliding lid and key ring, approximately 35×55x10mm. Above right is a small tin with hinged lid and chain attached, approximately 45×30x15mm. These were sold through his website and are long gone.
Wallets and Coin Purse
Jon made a bunch of money-holders in 2006 including, (left to right):
- a chunky leather-style tri-fold wallet, with chain attachment and characters printed on the inside. Approximately 90×120x20mm when folded.
- a small credit card wallet with plastic pockets for credit cards and business cards. It featured an exterior character design and measured 75×105x10mm
- a flat, zipper-top coin purse printed with a sticker collage design. It measured approximately 115×85mm
