Jon Burgerman is a Good Neighbor
Jon Burgerman is just like James Franco now! Both artists are on soap operas, though in Jon’s case, it’s actually his poster, Nineteen Something Or Other, that showed up on Australian TV drama, Neighbours. The poster (still available internationally via IKEA) was featured in episode 5951 of Neighbours, which aired on June 26th, 2010 in Australia and August 9th, 2010 in the UK. Sydney Morning Herald Toys
Jon was commissioned to create characters for an ad campaign for The Sydney Morning Herald in 2006. He created six characters: Finbaar, Noteboom, Persephone, Mifamwe, Barnaby and Wilhemina. A year later, Thunderdog Studios produced four of the “Interesting Creatures” (Finbaar, Noteboom, Persephone, and Mifamwe) as limited edition vinyl mini figures. Each figure is about 3 inches tall and comes with a tiny full-color newspaper. There were 500 of each figure made. These are some of my favorite figures, and I was lucky enough to procure a pair (Noteboom and Persephone) directly from Jon. Images below done with 3D rendering by The Glue Society.
