Duhprishus
Duhphrishus was Jon’s solo exhibition that ran from March through April at ROJO Artspace in Milano, Italy.
Duhprishus will lick the whimwham flutterbyes straight out of your eyes and smear them right back on to the walls. Subject to impulsive, unpredictable lines and cascades of pop colour, come and bear witness to the latest victim of Jon Burgermans’ slight of hand and heavy of head; ROJO® artspace Milano. This will be a full force installation with un-twistable stomachs and detachable parts, which will be available as collector’s items, along with the new monographic book entitled “Gribba Grub” and published by ROJO®.

BlauGallery is a project that is driven by spirit and heart. The main spirit of the BlauGallery is to bring individual art to peoples’ homes in a perfect way. The task is to develop unconventional products that carry this art and make it available to the customer in the highest quality at an acceptable price. Therefore all products of the BlauGallery are sold directly from the producer to the customer via e-commerce. There is no reselling distribution. Jon’s work is available (while it lasts) at Blaugallery (from whence I’ve pilfered these pics…).
Donuts Party
In 2008, DELKOGRAPHIK put on an exhibition about the donut. The popular pastry was used to bring together around 30 artists from across the globe. Over two months, donuts were immortalized by photographers, video directors and designers. “The DONUTS PARTY comes from the real captivation that Delkographic have of the popular clichés from the USA such as, Coke, baseball, cookies and… the DONUT.” Here is Jon’s contribution to the Donuts Party. Jeremyville, Superdeux and many others were also involved.
Here Gallery Christmas Show 2007
Jon had a number of pieces in the 2007 Here Gallery Christmas Show, which also featured Peskimo. Jon’s work ranged from envelopes and paper to cardboard and canvases to digital prints and the hand-made resin sculpture, WorryKnott. You can view all of the work by the artists involved in the show on Here’s Flickr set for the event. I’ve snatched pics of Jon’s pieces from the set for this post to virtually mirror the show. (Hope that’s OK…) Some of the work may still be available from the gallery. Keep tabs on Here here at their blog.
Here is an award winning shop and gallery based in Bristol, UK. Established in 2003, they are a not-for-profit cooperative, with a sister shop in Falmouth. They stock a select range of art books, small press comics and zines, artist made cards, prints, jewelery and plush toys. Their gallery hosts regular exhibitions from local and international artist.
Wilhelm Digital Canvas for Spectrum Art
Jon donated this 40cm x 40cm digital print on canvas to a Spectrum art event, which raised funds for the Safecare project.
Hypercolourphagia
Between August and November of 2007, Jon showed “super saturated, frenzied prints” entitled Hypercolourphagia at ROJO®artspace in Barcelona. “The works teeter dangerously along the point of palatable joyfulness and sickly overload, questioning notions of consumption and the folly’s associated with over indulgence. Hand-drawn works are broken apart and deftly reassembled digitally, keeping sketchbook scrawl rawness tempered with a sugar encrusted pallet.”
High Score and Pong Kong for I Am 8-Bit
Jon had two pieces (”High Score” and “Pong Kong”) in Gallery 1988’s 2007 I Am 8-Bit show. The giclee prints on canvas measured 8×11.5 inches and were signed and numbered in an edition of 5 each for $250. They may still be available here.
Free Lunch Exhibit
Free Lunch was a 2007 exhibition of doodles, prints, paintings and drawings shown at Analogue Books in Edinburgh. Along with the usual array of colorful characters, Jon chose to explore the notion of getting something for nothing. Visitors to the private view were encouraged to bring lunch items with them so Jon could enjoy a free lunch on the long journey back from Edinburgh the next day. A small limited edition print was given to anyone kind enough to supply something edible. The exhibition ran from March 15th through April 14th. All work—including multiple digital canvas prints–was for sale. To gauge availability, contact russell(at)analoguebooks.co.uk. All pics courtesy of Analogue’s Flickr set here.
From Octane3 With Love Auction
Jon donated doodles, stickers and a digital print on canvas to From Octane3 With Love, a fundraiser for a memorial and expenses for Ava, a little girl who lost the battle to cancer. The charity benefit was hosted by the Octane3 forum and coordinated on the Kidrobot forums. Besides Jon, other artists who got involved included: TADO, Shawnimal, Dinosauria, Peskimo, Doktor A and Squink. You can see all the art on Mazzlechan’s Flickr set here.
Immature Miniatures Digital Prints on Canvas
April 14th through May 31st of 2007, Jon joined forces with TADO to transform Paris’ Dadawan/Madturnip (now collectively known as NUKOD) into a wall-to-wall doodlefest. Together, they made so much incredible collaborative art. There were collabodoodles, digital prints on canvas, giclee prints, hand-made resin toys and hand-sewn felt plushes. They even drew on the balloons. This post features the canvases. The colors, the characters, the details…I wish I had them all.
