Inkstrumental Sneak Peeks
Inkstrumental™ is almost upon us. We’ll have something exclusive for you from ustwo shortly. In the meantime, turn up your speakers’ volume and enjoy a sneak peak at the iPhone app (below) as well as a bit of Inkstrumental™ CRAZO™ (the unreleased “lite” version, above) that ustwo released late last Fall.

Doodled Floppy Disk
Can’t resist posting one more completely random object for the day. Floppy disk spotted by Jeps on floppyswop.co.uk.
What is Floppyswop? Why, it’s “a place for sharing any files small enough to fit on a conventional floppy disc (1.44meg High density), art, media, sound, noise, its up to you, all files are hosted here for taking and swopping…”
Have a most random weekend!
Free inkstrumental iPhone App Wallpapers
Every couple months, there’s something new to post about inkstrumental, and we hear ustwo is getting close to releasing Jon’s iPhone app. Although it’s a bit like putting the cart in front of the horse, it’s great advertising and obviously, I’m a sucker for a JB wallpaper. I don’t see a way to link to the individual post on their tumblr site, but currently at the top of the page: four free colorful, virtual wallpaper downloads.
Customized iPods
It’s not a temporary iPod skin and it’s not a permanently lasered laptop. These PoscaPods fall somewhere in the middle. Very, very cool! To see more random objects get Burgerized, click here.
Remote Action Doodling
From a flat in Nottingham to a club in Berlin, using two tin cans and a length of rope. Some people call it Skype. Writes Jon:
Using Skype I performed with Jim and then doodled live. The video was projected on a large screen in the venue in Berlin. I was accompanying Jim Avignon as he performed songs from his brilliant new album - Say Hi To Your Neighborhood.

Computer Arts Free USB Card Offer
Computer Arts is a rather expensive mag as priced here in the US. Not to say it’s not worth each penny and pound, but just that I’m lucky I’ve got UK natives who send me their copies and scans (thanks!). That said, magazines are great. Don’t you love turning glossy pages? If you’ve been holding out on subscribing, CA has now sweetened the pot, and turned this browser into a buyer.
Straight from Computer Arts:
This is a truly great gift! Probably the best gift ever to be offered on Computer Arts magazine.
Straight from Jon:
If you subscribe to Computer Arts magazine you now get this nifty 2GB USB card adorned with my scribbles. They come pre-loaded with tutorials and interviews but you can delete those straight away and store all your illegal downloads and saucy photos on it.
$124.99 USD will get you 13 issues of CA and some slick new memory. Subscription info for various countries can be found here. Thanks to Amir for the hi-res scans below!
Just Married
That’s right, posse: Secret Agent Doodle is no longer single. (I guess that makes me a double agent? Cool…) If you’re seeing this post, it means that 1) Greta and I got married, and 2) Wordpress’ scheduling robots published this. This most excellent doodle is by Mr. Jon Burgerman. I’ve done a little PhotoShop handiwork to incorporate it into signage for the wedding. These tags (below) will hang onto 6 DIY 8-inch Qees, which our guests will undoubtedly turn into “masterpieces.”
Not sure where I’d be without this incredible red-haired girl, but I can tell you where we’re going: to Japan! Doodlesplatter will be on hiatus for the next two weeks. I promise to bring you back tales from Tokyo and resume dishing out the doodles upon our return. Thanks to everyone who helped us with little things here and there these past couple months. You know who you are. Cheers!
Have a Nice Weekend
Odopod, the design agency behind that White Gold milk commercial, has an interesting digital sketching platform.
Odosketch is a Flash drawing application that we first launched in August of 2006 for an Adobe Design Gallery feature on Odopod. After that, we left the tool open for anyone to use and as of our most recent launch, over 19,000 sketches had been saved.
Here are a few more of Jon’s Odosketches. If you can’t see the sketch-in-progress, you need Flash. If you don’t want Flash, hit the jump for a still.
