Jon customized sofas as part of Tiger Translate in Beijing. The sofas were used on stage that Saturday, and also feature the doodles of Jeremyville, Luke Bennett, Ben Frost, Li Qiu Qiu, Song Yang and Nie Jun.
Gigantic Pens Are Good Fabric Print
This large-scale fabric print (Approx 232×200cm; That’s 91×78 inches!) was part of Jon’s Because I Can’t Sit Still show. It is printed using cutting edge techniques, and the prints are made to order. He will supply it with two metal bars to aid hanging. Available here. [Note 12/27/09: Orders are no longer shipping with a certificate of authenticity, but if you're ordering it directly from Jon or Burgerplex, and unless Jon has been taken over by aliens, you are probably safe.] I wish I could get one of these!
Greengoon Rip Curl European Collection
Jon designed a T-shirt, hoodie, cap, backpack, surfboard, snowboard and ski, surf and snowgear for Rip Curl Europe. All of the pieces in his summer and winter collections were made out of organic and recycled materials and have a unique Burgerman aesthetic plus a personal hangtag sticker with the Greengoon on it. Greengoon is Jon’s imaginary green friend that eats worms and recycles: “a classic Jon Burgerman character that fits perfectly in the Rip Curl Planet framework.” This gear is so awesome, it almost makes me want to be sporty. Here are tons of photos of the clothes, wall-doodling, the Greengoon and a video. Check it all out to get the full range of the range. If you stare long enough, you might have a Magic Eye experience.
Size? Clothing Collaboration
Jon released a range of clothing and with UK premium sneaker chain Size?. In this series, Size? got together with artists to produce limited edition products. Jon’s is the first collaboration, and it consists of a t-shirt, sweatshirt (jumper), reversible hoodie, belt and matching umbrella covered in orange doodles on black fabric. Everything in the collection are limited to 300 pieces worldwide. I have the sweatshirt, and it rules! I wonder how geeky it would be to deck out in the full range of coordinate gear? It’s tempting…
You can get Jon’s pieces in the Size? online store, through Jon’s webshop (check availability, most items are sold out) and Size? stores in Dublin, Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff and Brighton.
Doodlesplat Messenger Bag
In 2006, Jon produced a stunning messenger bag that bears the same name as this humble blogography. Doodlesplat is a cord-lined courier (or messenger as we say in the US) style bag with its front flap screen-printed with a Doodlesplat. It features a small side pocket for your mobile phone and a big badge on the front. The bag size is approximately 30×37x8cm. Photos courtesy of happy Doodlesplat owner Marion Hawkes. I would love to have this bag…
Burgerland Woven Belt
This is a ‘woven drawing’ belt Jon did for Yummy Industries. It measures 4cm x 110cm and features glow-in-the-dark white stitching. I thought this was sold out, but it looks like you can still get it from the Yummy Industries website among some other really cool belts for 33 Euros in the Belts section here.
