Charity T-shirts for The Music Exchange
I recently happened upon what has got to be one of the coolest charities on earth: Nottingham-based The Music Exchange, “a not-for-profit social enterprise providing quality music at an affordable price and run by homelessness charity, Framework.” The shop is staffed by “individuals who have experienced a period of unsettled life” and helps them “rebuild their confidence and self esteem whilst gaining invaluable retail experience”. How awesome is that? Not to mention this:
The Music Exchange supports local bands by providing them with an outlet to sell their merchandise and recordings commission free. The only agreement is that bands perform at one of The Music Exchange benefit nights held through out the year. These nights celebrate new and exciting music, with any profit going directly back into the shop. The Music Exchange is also currently working with bands to release vinyl singles on our own label.
Jon created two T-shirts (blue and magenta) to support the charity. You can get them at the shop for £15, or with a little international finagling. They are located at 18 West End Arcade, Chapel Bar, Nottingham, NG1 6JP and open Tuesday through Saturday from 10AM to 4PM. Most albums and DVDs at The Music Exchange are priced at just £3.
