Globetrotting and Doodling For AOL

Wondering what the heck Jon was doing in Bangalore? Doodling all over the world for AOL, which, despite what anyone under 20 might think, actually still exists! Even my super-stalking, um, sleuthing skills couldn’t get me into India, so I had to wait for the downlow from this press release by Sam Summerskill of Jon’s agency, Debut Art.

Jon Burgerman has been flying all over the world for the past couple of weeks painting huge murals for the guys at Aol. He’s been to New York, Dulles, back to the UK and then…. Bangalore where he is today.

Been a nuts couple of weeks for Mr Burgerman, he has been drawing the murals then letting the guys at the different Aol. headquarters colour them in based. Super interactive, and super fun.

So, i guess, gadzoiks for Jon Burgerman day (apparently what today, the 10th February, is being called around the Aol. offices.)

Check the pics on our Flickr page, and check out this awesome time lapse video of Jon Burgermans NYC wall here.

Massive thanks to Malcolm and Alicianne again for their continued support and all of the guys in Aol headquarters in Bangalore and the US who have been looking after Jon and making his stay a good one.

To see more of Jon Burgerman’s portfolio click here, and do drop us an email or call if you have anything you are working on that requires his vibes.

Time lapse created by GHAVA.

The following photos were taken around the world for AOL, and I’ve borrowed them from Debut Art’s Flickr Set (where you can find several more). The final, coloring-in photos, were taken today, in Bangalore. Jon also took over the AOL website with some digital doodles. You can find Debut Art’s original press release here. Click through for more photos. [UPDATE: Wondering where Jon got his Burger sweatshirt? Look here.]

Freemantle Mural

I have some stuff from days gone by I need to post for artkival completion. At the end of May this past year, Jon did two murals in two days. One was this wall at Music Sales. The other was for FreemantleMedia, and Jon twitpic’d his progress as he went. These final pics of the “coolest editing suite ever” come from Damien Marchi’s Facebook.

Brooklyn Street Art

Williamsburg Wall by Jon Burgerman

Last week, Jon got his doodle on in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, New York. Photo by Jaime Rojo on the Brooklyn Street Art blog. Bonus points for the caption: “It’s a whole new Doodle by British Sensation Jon Burgerman!” If I parked my car near this wall, my Infectious sticker-scheme (in progress) would blend nicely…

Adding to the range of available Jon Burgerman clings, “vynils” and wall adhesives comes a new decal through AREAWARE. “My World is Pink and Blue” is a gigantic (146.5 x 118 inches) slice of custom made-to-order vinyl for your wall. Or, if you’re prone to spending beyond your means, consider it lovely decor for that new cardboard box you’ll be living in. It is currently available for $850 here.

Our products are decorative but go beyond ornament. Each has an underlying meaning which we believe can deepen the relationship people have with the everyday objects in their lives.

Cute and Dangerous Live Painting

Cute & Dangerous

I didn’t make it down the coast for Cute & Dangerous, but thanks to the fast-acting pill known as Flickr, I feel (almost) like I was there. This gig looked like so much fun with a host of talented artists, live drawing by Jon and Luke Feldman, and the appearance of the Zippercut girls. Looks like art was selling too; I can spot some red dots on Jon’s mini-canvases. Nice! All the following photos are courtesy of Leslie Levings (who had Beastlies on display) and Zippercut (who brought a little Japan to the OC). [UPDATE: More C&D photos have been Flickr'd by Anita Meija and TokyoBunnie!]
